This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The first Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum) was in flower in Loughor and Ash (Fraxinus excelsior) buds were bursting. In Bynea, saw my first Red dead nettle (Lamium purpureum) and Common vetch (Vicia sativa) of the year. In Swansea, Field pennycress (Thlapsi arvense) was both fruiting and flowering and the Horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) is doing its candelabra impersonation.
