This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. At the WWT Llanelli, the Hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna) is coming into leaf and the Nettle (Urtica dioica) is sprouting forth. Even the Wild daffodil (Narcissus pseudonarcissus) is in bud and Bracket fungus adorns the trees. The Great ram's horn (Planorbis corneus) and Great pond (Limnaea stagnalis) snails have started to feed in the dipping ponds.
