There does seem something a tad illogical to claim to be a government concerned about environmental issues in the UK whilst concomitantly loaning £1.7bn to fund carbon dioxide-generating activities (such as exploitation of 'new' coal and oil deposits) in other parts of the globe (http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/jan/06/uk-loaned-17bn-to-foreign-fossil-fuel-projects-despite-pledge). There is only one planet in this process!
This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.
