This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. On a sunny day in Loughor after overnight rain, the Fritillary (Fritillaria meleagris), Hoary stock (Matthiola incana), Lords and ladies (Arum maculatum) and Spanish bluebell (Endymion hispanicus) blessed us with their presence. They were joined by the first Small white (Artogeia rapae) and Large white (Pieris brassicae) butterflies as well as Seven-spot ladybirds (Coccinella 7-punctata) of the year.
Further flowers in Bynea. Pineapple mayweed ( Chamomilla suaveolens ) and feral Cultivated apple ( Malus domestica ) put in appearances.
