The 'sea' of Galilee is really a lake. It is, however, notable that Israel is reportedly having to add large quantities of desalinated seawater to it in an attempt to counteract its shrinking dimensions (and to counter increasing salinity), after 15 years of reduced rainfall (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jun/12/israel-to-top-up-sea-of-galiliee-after-years-of-drought). This 'top-up' is apparently necessary to maintain the lake's biodiversity but it can simultaneously act as a reservoir.
This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.
