Just Deserts

The 2023 Royal Horticultural Society Hampton Court Flower Show features UK gardens designed to resist climate change (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/apr/18/horticulturalists-turn-to-desert-gardens-at-flower-shows-amid-climate-crisis). These gardens use drought-tolerant plants and cacti, as well as novel approaches to what might well be limited irrigation. No more lawns and flower beds of annuals. Hydrangeas, acers and fuschias (badly affected in recent heatwaves) will be phased out. No more beds of traditional salad plants. We may all soon have our little 'desert garden' outback. Perhaps we also won't be drinking dry sherry, in our dry gardens but a nice, dry English white?
