Retro

'Retro' means going backward. The Age of Enlightenment (the Age of Reason) occurred around the eighteenth century. It was an intellectual and cultural movement, emphasizing reason over superstition and science over blind faith. Adherents, believed that human history would be a record of progress. Given the recent rise of 'alternative facts', wild 'conspiracy theories' and anti-science, things now look distinctly retro. One might even call the present 'The Age of Unenlightenment or Unreason'?
