The world is a weird place. It has been reported that a likely new mayor of Madrid intends to abolish a low emissions zone in the city because night time traffic jams are part of the 'ambience' of that town (https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2019/may/31/madrid-set-to-end-clean-air-project-in-rightwing-power-switch). She doesn't bother to mention the effects on the health of its citizens (especially its school children in their city schools).
This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.
