This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. Plants We Used to Use 524. Yellow wood violet
Yellow wood violet (Viola biflora) flowers can be used as a thickening agent in soup. They've also been employed to soothe skin conditions, like eczema and insect bites, as well as respiratory and urinary conditions. Extracts have been added to bath salts; skin lotion and lip balm.
