This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.

Don't Go to Scotland: It's Raining!
Two rail companies are advising folk not to currently travel to Scotland. There's an amber rain warning, with a real risk of widespread flooding (https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/oct/07/train-services-suspended-in-parts-of-scotland-with-heavy-rain-forecast). I wonder if the current UK government have noticed? Temperatures, in England's SE, are an extraordinary (for October) 24 degrees Centigrade. There's, however, apparently no real rush to abate climate change!
