When Did They Come to the UK? 11. The Asian Hornet

The Asian (or Yellow-legged) hornet (Vespa velutina) was imported, along with wood supplies, to France. In September 2016, it was first confirmed in the Tetbury area of the UK. Since then, there have been 22 confirmed sightings in Britain.
