A UN Head, supported by world science, has noted that current attempts to limit climate change are 'way off track' and has suggested that this is a greater challenge to our species than the current coronavirus outbreak (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/mar/10/climate-emergency-global-action-way-off-track-says-un-head-coronavirus). He, in deed, goes further, arguing that we should not allow the current, highly newsworthy focus on Covid-19 to distract us from the more serious but longer-term challenge. It is interesting to note that today's UK budget leaves motorcar fuel duty exactly where it was (so, not much of a focus there).
This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.
