Big and Little Biomes

A recent study has found that bigger biomes (say the size of the Amazon rainforest or the Great Barrier reef) breakdown (once breakdown is started) more quickly than smaller ones, when  'tipping points' are reached (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/mar/10/ecosystems-size-of-amazon-rainforest-can-collapse-within-decades). This it suggests that we may have less time than we think to do something serious about reversing climate change.
