Slip Sliding Away

Prolonged hot, dry weather doesn't just increase the probability of wild fires. In the UK's Southern, coastal areas, they also make landslides much more likely (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/aug/10/warning-heatwave-cliff-fall-england-south-coast). There has already been a collapse of the weak Sidmouth mudstone formation in Devon. Geologists and Councils are also concerned about the Jurassic Coast area, in neighbouring Dorset. Landslides occur with minimal warning, endangering people walking on cliff tops or simply sitting on/strolling along beaches. Unfortunately. the general public don't appear to take warning signs very seriously.
