This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.

England’s Rivers Allowed to Run Rotten
This shouldn't fill anyone with confidence about any UK government boast about its commitment to environmental issues (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/dec/22/target-date-for-cleaning-up-waterways-in-england-is-moved-back-by-36-years). No English waterway is currently in good environmental health. In spite of this, the target date to clean up most of England's rivers, lakes and coastal waters, from agricultural and sewage pollution, have been now been pushed back by 30+ years. But, we are really focused on saving our environment. Honest!
