Fear and Loathing in Environmental Issues

With the lack of good news on environmental issues (and the power of deniers), it is hardly remarkable that such topics have become associated with mental health problems (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/feb/10/overwhelming-and-terrifying-impact-of-climate-crisis-on-mental-health). Mental health problems have reportedly been most apparent in some scientists working on the topic (who can see what is going on and probably feel somewhat helpless) and in the young (who worry about their futures and don't believe that 'adults' are doing much about it). But you know what they say about anxiety- it's only inappropriate when there is nothing to be fearful about! Would ignorance really be bliss?
