It's somewhat embarrassing that the UK reportedly pushed to host COP26 (the climate change conference scheduled for Glasgow) but now appears to spend more time arguing about who should head the meeting than advocating (and showing?) sensible and timely commitments (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/feb/07/mary-robinson-attacks-unhelpful-uk-over-cop-26-climate-talks). It does not appear that anything other than warm words and distant (well after the current actors have stepped down) undertakings are on offer from politicians.
This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.
