Sweltering in the Antarctic

It has been reported that the Antarctic has reached its 'highest' temperature of 18.3 degrees Celsius (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/feb/07/antarctica-logs-hottest-temperature-on-record-with-a-reading-of-183c). What they really mean is that this is the highest temperature recorded by humans, as in the geological past, the continent was quite steamy due to plate tectonics.
