It's somewhat disturbing to read that the greenhouse gas emissions from the world's 13 largest dairy farms matches that of the UK (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/jun/15/emissions-from-13-dairy-firms-match-those-of-entire-uk-says-report). This emphasises that our ability to halt (or even reverse) climate change is probably more dependent on commercial organisations (and our diet?) than on the individual undertakings of entire countries. I suspect that these mega-dairy farms are much more focused on milk production than they are on curbing their emissions.
This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.
