Change in the weather and lots of the grasses (3 examples shown) from Bynea to Penclacydd were in flower. In Loughor, Fly honeysuckle (Lonicera xylosteum), the alien Snowberry (Symphoricarpos alba) and Tutsan (Hypericum androsaemum) were all flowering. The Bynea, Common evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) and Ragwort (Senecio jacobaea) were in bloom. In Penclacwydd, Hairy tare (Vicia hirsute) and what might be Butterfly iris (Iris spuria) were flowering.
This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.
