Plants We Used To Use 148. Dyer's greenweed

Dyer's greenweed (Genista tinctoria) produces a yellow pigment. When this is mixed with woad, the result is a high quality green dye. In addition, this plant's seeds can be a) a possible coffee substitute and b) pickled, producing caper-like snacks.
