Let's Hear it For the Bogs!

 

Flow country in Scotland is a 10,000 year old blanket bog that is largely comprised of sphagnum moss

Although the blanket bog has been likened to a wet desert, this slowly growing habitat stores some 400 million tons of carbon, which is double the amount sequestered by all the woodland in the entire UK. We clearly need more bogs!
