Drill Music?

Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) sell well. The People who buy them, however, rarely need a gas-guzzler and purchase them for the status (I'm sitting higher than you!). SUVs are certainly highly detrimental to attempts to counter climate change and improve city air quality. There're also more effective in killing people in road traffic accidents. There have been campaigns about their use in France and concerns expressed about the dangers of 'Chelsea tractors' in London. Now, the Tyre Extinguisher direct action group, have drilled holes in the tyres of 60 SUVs at an Exeter car dealership (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/aug/07/activists-drill-holes-in-tyres-of-more-than-60-suvs-at-exeter-car-dealership. Although the action makes a 'point', it's highly uncertain it will have any effect on dealerships who sell SUVs. There's profits in them there hills! It would really make more sense for government to strongly discourage their sales (seems unlikely, in the UK, given the ruling party's recent 'pro-motorist' stance). Perhaps, classifying the vehicles as 'highly polluting' and making them liable to enhanced daily charges to enter low emissions zones in London and elsewhere would be a start?
