Now Write Your Lines: "I Must Not Sink the G20 Climate Talks"

China is currently the planet's biggest user of energy. It's claimed the country 'needs' this, to run its extensive manufacturing. In spite of climate change, China continues to build and operate coal-fired electricity generating plants. Although China denies it, it's assumed they helped prevent the recent G20 (a meeting of rich, developed nations) coming to an agreement about a) reducing 'greenhouse gas' emissions and b) funding less-developed nations, having to deal with the consequences of climate change caused by someone else. Beijing has now experienced its heaviest rainfall for 140 years. There's been widespread flooding and some loss of life (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/aug/02/beijing-reports-heaviest-rain-140-years-china-g20-climate-talks). One might think that this is a timely reminder of the consequences of inaction. The phenomenon is called climate change.
