Fireworks

I know that some people get excited about fireworks (the term 'fireworks' is even a synonym of 'excitement'). I had kind of hoped, however, that, in these days of Covid-19 lockdown (involving both people and their nervous pet animals) and fears about climate change, fireworks would be becoming less popular. The detritus from last night's displays is still all over the place this morning. It was an atypically, bright and sunny 5th of November, as we alledgedly remember an attempt to blow up the UK parliament in 1605. I do think we could start to forget about it. And that is without mentioning burns injuries and the difficulties of emergency services dealing with these and the odd house fire in lockdown.
