This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.

Some People Will Steal Anything!
News is just in that the world's biggest rabbit (according to the Guinness Book of Records), has been stolen from its Worcestershire home (https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/apr/12/worlds-biggest-rabbit-stolen-from-home-in-worcestershire). The rabbit, called Darius, is 129cm long. It is difficult to work out why he was taken. Any thief couldn't display him or claim the record with his/her loot. I suppose Darius might have been taken for stud or to make way for some other rabbit contender to take the title of 'The World's Biggest Rabbit'. It does suggest, however, that competition in rabbit-showing circles is pretty cut-throat!
