Vampire Electrical Devices are Somewhat Mythical

The rocketing cost of energy has resulted in folk in the UK being told that devices left on charge may be costing them considerable sums (up to circa 23% of their energy bills). It appears, however, that the concept of 'vampire devices' is based on a 2015 report from the US National Research Defense Council based on California homes (https://www.blogger.com/home ). Not many UK homes have recirculation pumps, fishponds, aquaria and protected outlets in bathrooms, kitchens and garages. They are, consequently unlikely to save the £110 per annum, 'at a flick of the switch', predicted by British Gas. It's also pointed out that the introduction of LCDs and LEDs have made many electrical devices more efficient.
