This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.

Welsh Weather
It's nowhere near the heady 'heights' of the 40-43 degrees Centigrade, predicted for parts of England. The new record Welsh temperature of 35.3 is, however, an incremental ratching up (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-62154870?at_medium=RSS&at_campaign=KARANGA). Wale's new high was recorded in Gogerddon, near the mid-Wales University town of Aberystwyth. The previous top Welsh temperature was a 'mere' 35.2 degrees Centigrade, recorded in August 1990.
