Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. Honey, I Found This Species at the Back of the Freezer?
For the first time, scientists have been able to create cloned mice from their freeze-dried skin cells (https://www.theguardian.com/science/2022/jul/05/cloned-mice-created-from-freeze-dried-skin-cells-in-world-first). Using this technology, endangered animal species and their variants could be preserved in freezers. This seems to potentially provide a cheap and easy insurance against extinction! Will the last person on the planet, switch off the freezer?
