Plants We Used To Use 70. Alexanders

Alexanders or Horse parsley (Smyrnium olusatrum) was brought by the Romans to the UK for cultivation. It's since been largely replaced by celery. The flower buds can be used like broccoli, the seeds dried and used like black pepper and the roots roasted like parsnip.
