This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. Plants We Used to Use 489. Wild celery
Leaves of Wild celery (Apium graveolens) were worn in Ancient Greece's Nemean games. They can be chopped in salads or added to flavour hot dishes. Seeds also impart a strong celery flavour, when sprinkled on dishes. This herb was claimed to reduce blood pressure and relieve indigestion. Seeds were used to treat colds, 'flu; arthritis etc.
