This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. Plants We Used to Use 335. Pineapple mayweed
Fruity-flavoured, Pineapple mayweed (Chamomilia suaveolus) is added raw to salads; infused as a 'tea'; used as an ingredient of salad dressings and made into a 'jam', for snacks or desserts. Herbally, it's been used as a sedative, as well as to relieve anxiety and insomnia. Pineapple mayweed is also claimed to ease menstrual cramps and digestive pains.
