This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. Plants We Used to Use 353. Red clover
Fresh or dried flowers/leaves of Red clover (Trifolium pratense) are edible. This plant was also used to make a herbal 'tea', historically claimed to be effective for asthma; whooping cough; cancer and gout. It's still promoted for menopausal symptoms; high cholesterol levels and osteoporosis.
