Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. Plants We Used to Use 339. Primrose
Primrose (Primula vulgaris) flowers and leaves are edible in salads. Leaves can also be cooked in soups or used to make a 'tea' whereas young flowers make primrose wine. In the past, the roots were believed to be analgesic; anti-spasmodic; diuretic and an expectorant. It was especially used for colds.
