Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. Plants We Used To Use 115. Common wintercress
The flowers of Common wintercress (Barbarea vulgaris) can be added to salads. The leaves and unopened flower buds can be eaten raw or cooked.. This plant has been used to treat coughs. The Greeks and Romans regarded it as an aphrodisiac (they seemed to try everything).
