Plants We Used To Use 206. Gypsywort

Gypsywort (Lycopus europaeus) root produces a permanent black dye. The whole plant is astringent and hypoglycaemic, as well as being mildly narcotic and sedative. Gypsywort extracts have been used to treat hyperthyroidism (over-active thyroid).
