Climate Change Across the USA

'Greenhouse gas' emissions (carbon dioxide and methane) essentially stop some solar radiation being reflected back into space. This results in global heating. This heating influences, for example, the atmospheric jet stream and the Atlantic gulf stream. These (and many other) modifications, produce changes in typical weather patterns. Places can become hotter or cooler. Wetter or drier. The increased solar gain also puts greater energy into the weather systems, increasing the probabilities of extreme weather events. Climate change is clearly illustrated by the simultaneous situations in Las Vegas (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jul/09/las-vegas-climate-change-drought-water-conservation) and New York (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jul/09/new-york-city-storm-flooding-climate-change). The people of Las Vegas, in the Mojave desert, are having to come to grips with a water shortage largely caused by a 2-year long drought. They are having to employ inspectors, looking for people wasting water. Concomitantly, on the East coast in New York, atypical (at this time of the year) storms flood the streets and subways. You can have too little or too much of a good thing.

Putting a Different Construct On It?

Steel and cement production release massive amounts of climate-altering 'greenhouse gas'. These materials are, of course, much used...
