This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.

Welsh Wine
Things are really changing, when a Welsh red wine wins a gold award (https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2021/07/07/retired-nurse-and-ex-postal-worker-scoop-prestigious-wine-award-for-welsh-vineyard/). The wine in question was a 2018 pinot noir from the White Castle Vineyard in Montgomery. It won gold in the Decanter World Wine Awards, in competition with wines from France and elsewhere. I suppose climate change will be credited but the Romans brought vines to Wales some years ago.
