This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.

Now, There's Unsurprising!
Perhaps, we should be less than shocked to learn that the lobbyist running the FairFuelUK campaign is a director of Ultimum (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/mar/02/lobbyist-opposed-to-uk-petrol-cars-ban-is-director-of-fuel-additive-firm). The FairFuelUK campaign is working with some environmentally-sceptic UK Members of Parliament, to argue that, the development of, as yet unproven fuel additives, means it's unnecessary to phase out petrol and diesel engines. Ultimum makes one such additive and claiming that it can reduce emissions by 50% (this is contested). So, there's clearly no conflict of interest there! Even if additives can produce emissions reductions, climate and health-damaging gases would still be being spewed out! It also currently doesn't seem to be an opportune time, to maintain the UK's dependence on oil to fuel its transport.
