Plants We Used to Use 416. Smooth sow-thistle
Smooth sow-thistle (Sonchus oleraceus) leaves and stems can be cooked like vegetables as well as added to stir fries and stews. Stems should be 'milked' of sap before cooking. In traditional medicine, this plant was used as an anti-inflammatory; muscle relaxant; pain killer and antiseptic. Infusions produced a poultice.
