Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. Plants We Used to Use 454. Tuberous pea
Tuberous pea (Lathyrus tuberosus) tubers are rich in vitamins. They can be boiled or roasted, as a root vegetable. Tubers were also fermented to produce beverages. An oil was obtained from this plant's seeds. Flowers were distilled, in the 16th Century, to make perfume.
