This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. Plants We Used to Use 453. Tree mallow
Tree mallow (Lavatera arborea) leaves are said to be edible, if cut very thinly. Leaves and flowers have been used to treat respiratory infections; skin irritations and digestive issues. Tree mallow has soothing and moisturising properties. It's, consequently, employed to make cosmetics and skin-care products.
