Square-stalked St John's wort (Hypericum tetrapterum) flowers yielded a yellow dye for wool and other fabrics. This plant's extracts have also been promoted for treatment of depression and menopausal symptoms, as well as attention-deficit hyperactivity; somatic symptom and obsessive-compulsive disorders.
