Chicken Licken'?

Media wars are getting down and dirty again! Moy Park is a Northern Ireland-based meat supplier for Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC). It's enormous, with a capacity for 380,000 chickens. A visit by a prominent YouTuber was arranged by KFC. He emerged with a clip emphasising that some chickens had fresh straw and perches. The clip has now been viewed, on a Twitter account, more than 1 million times (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/apr/12/kfc-faces-backlash-over-misleading-portrayal-of-chicken-farming-niko-omilana). A vegan company subsequently sent undercover people into Moy Park. They recorded little fresh straw as well as sick, lame and dead birds. This is now being used to create a 'backlash' against KFC. It's not really certain whether going clip to clip really solves anything. Both KFC and the vegan company clearly have their own commercial interests uppermost (as do 'influencers'). It would be better if chicken welfare issues are examined by independent vets?
