This blog may help people explore some of the 'hidden' issues involved in certain media treatments of environmental and scientific issues. Using personal digital images, it's also intended to emphasise seasonal (and other) changes in natural history of the Swansea (South Wales) area. The material should help participants in field-based modules and people generally interested in the natural world. The views are wholly those of the author.

Some Scientists Get Serious?
Twenty-five scientists, affiliated to Extinction Rebellion, pasted pages of scientific papers and glued their hands to the windows of the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/apr/13/xr-scientists-glue-hands-to-business-department-in-london-climate-protest). The troublesome 25, apparently, thought the UK government was ignoring climate science. How can that be, when this country has the most 'ambitious' net zero pledges? One can only hope the scientists didn't make too much noise. Otherwise, they might irritate 'the public' and risk being fined or even 'banged up' in prison. Perhaps they could argue, they were only improving the building's insulation?
